IMPORTANT: APSG 43 Goes Virtual!

24 Mar 2020 9:48 AM | Anonymous

Dear Members & Community,

In recent weeks, our community has faced challenges on a global scale unlike any we have ever known with the spread of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. Out of uncertainty for how long this crisis will continue as well as concern for the health of individuals, many conferences and trade-shows have started the process of cancelling upcoming events and rescheduling for dates later in the year. This past week, the APSG Executive Committee had this conversation to decide the fate of our APSG 43 Spring Meeting.

Our verdict? Rather than cancel our meeting, we have decided to use this as an opportunity to share our industry knowledge with a wider audience and in a way we have not explored in the past. We are going virtual!

Rather than hold this event in-person at the Lakehouse at Towne Lake in Cypress, TX as we had originally planned, we will be bringing it online as a webinar. Our committee is still ironing out the details of the schedule, the platform on which it will be hosted (for instance, Zoom), and the timing of the event. The webinar will be scheduled for May 8, 2020 in line with our original event date so no need to cross it off your calendar!

Because these are trying times in the industry and we are genuinely excited about the papers that will be presented, we have decided to wave the attendance fee for any guests and non-APSG members.

Our committee will keep you posted over the coming weeks when we are ready to announce the schedule and have more information on how to access the webinar. We hope you are just as excited as we are to shake things up and really put our technology to the test.

We hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy. Should you have any questions about this announcement, please message me directly at chair@apsg.info.

Regards,
