Dear Members,

The Association of Petroleum Surveying and Geomatics (APSG) is a great organization, and I am humbled yet honored to take the helm for the remainder of this year and into 2020.

Having seen the prior year as Vice Chair, I have developed a new appreciation for what an organization like our provides - from the advancement of survey technology and software, providing education to students and professionals alike. Building upon existing networks and gaining new industry connections, it all culminates into the core of what APSG is all about.

The oil and gas industry has seen its share of ups and downs over the years. Through industry organizations such as ourselves, we maintain a constant in an otherwise cyclic business.

I want to thank both Kelly Kore (Chair) and Bobby Saleh (Treasurer) for their incredible work and dedication they have provided throughout their tenure with our committee - and especially this year, as their terms expired following APSG 42. We wish you both well in the future.

With that, a big welcome to Aidan Thirsk (Vice Chair) and Ryan Brown (Treasurer) for the coming year.

Our committee will hold our first meeting as the newly elected board in December and set a course for both APSG 43 and 44. In the meantime, we invite you to join us on December 5, 2019 for our final Happy Hour social and networking event of the year. 

I look forward to serving as Chairperson alongside you as we strive together to make APSG an exemplary organization for the surveying and geomatics disciplines in the petroleum industry.
