APSG 38 Fall Meeting Map Contest Rules & Guidelines

•Clear statement on the Map Geodetics. Projected CRS, Datum, etc.

•Clearly stated map scale.

•Effective use of Geographic Information - appropriate use and portrayal of spatial data

•Accuracy - grammar, punctuation, spelling, text font, text size, figures, tables.

•Design/Layout - logical organization and visual flow of text and graphics

•Visual Appeal - color coordination, geometry, accents, highlights, use of symbology

•Effective communication - understandable and concise

•Originality - unique presentation

•Eligibility - Contest open to all full time students who are members of APSG (Student Membership is free). 1 entry per person.

•Winners do not have to be present to win but maintain the responsibility of collecting any prizes that are won in the contest.  Winners will be responsible for any government taxes.

•Prizes - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes TBA.  One 1 prize can be awarded per map entry (even if a map has multiple authors, only one prize is awarded).

•Submission - email a map contest submission form (click on button shown below) and map entry (in pdf or jpeg format - not to exceed 10MB) in electronic format to apsgmapcontest@gmail.com no later than Monday, November 6th, 2017.  Bring one printed copy of your map entry to the APSG Fall meeting (November 10th, 2017 at Oceaneering) for display.  Do not forget to register for the event here since no on-site registration will be availble: http://www.apsg.info/

APSG reserves the right to discontinue this contest without prior notice or not to grant any prizes if the submitted entries do not meet the criteria set forth herein.
