The first meeting was November 12, 1997 at the Omni Hotel, Houston. 18 interested people discussed the prospects for setting up an association. Jean-Patrick Girbig chaired the meeting. Roger Lott recorded minutes. Mike Chamberlain volunteered as APSG Chair on formation. The Articles of Association were formalised on May 18, 1999.
